LOG LINE: A
young man learns of the world around him and decides to follow in his fathers
footsteps and begins to fulfill his destiny with friends and foes.
SUMMARY: Luke
Skywalker is a young man that lives with his aunt and uncle on a planet that is
part of a ficitonal universe. He is hopeful to go away with friends to an
academy but his uncle is very dependent of Luke and asks him to stay on their
farm for another season. As tensions grow between them an evil emporer has
taken over the entire galaxy by getting rid of the old Republic. The evil
emporer has done this by creating a battle station more powerful than all other
space crafts in the galaxy and it is called The Death Star. As the evil
emporer’s apprentice takes action, a young princess is captured and forced to
tell the apprentice where her rebel friends are hiding. Luckily the princess,
Leia Organa, has shipped the Death Star’s technical diagram inside a message of
a trustworthy droid and for it to be brought to a good man of power much like
the evil emporer. The apprentice named Darth Vader sees to it that Leia give up
the coordinates of the rebel alliance. Luke has come across the message
carrying droid and also the powerfully good man named Obi-Wan Kenobi. Together
they decide to aid the princess and come upon a smuggler and a Wookie that will
help them reach their destination. As Luke and Obi-Wan travel they unknowingly
come into contact with the princess and Darth Vader. As a team Luke, Leia, the
smuggler (Han Solo), the Wookie (Chewbacca), and Obi-Wan they rescue the
princess and Luke must continue his destiny without his master. Once the plans
within the droid have been safely brought to the rebels the mission of
destroying the battle station begins. Luke successfully destroys the Death Star
with the help of Jedi Master Kenobi and Han Solo. Luke, Han, and Chewbacca are
awarded heroic medals from the rebels and are joined in friendship with Leia.
COMMENTS: The
plot of this film becomes more and more complex as we watch but if we do not
begin with the first film then it is quite difficult to know the backstory and
correctly begin a character development. The special effects are quite advanced
for the time it was produced and made this film hard to take my eyes off. With
the combination of the plot, the characters, the effects, and the dialogue my
view of movies within the fantasy/ action genre became more of a consideration
into a recommendation.
The plot was well developed from the very first scene
because although we did not know the backstory for “A New Hope” we could tell
that there was one. The fact that we were already thinking of this stories past
made this film recommendation appropriate. As we near the end of this wonderful
and action packed extarvaganza, the audience hopes that soon and very soon they
will be able to know more and more about the characters and all that has
happened around these dynamic characters.

Words + Image
As I was creating this all I could think about was how was I going to "move" the images. You can't make a still image move, but I tried my best. I thought that transitions were the best option to make my images "move". I know that adding transitions are the easiest and simplest effect but let me explain why I choose them.
Transitions of all kinds were used from slides and dissolves to circle close and ripples. To me each transition told a story. Slides were smooth and portrayed the smoothness in the poem while dissolves portrayed a more confusing part for our grandma with dementia. Ripples told the audience about the transition from past to present. As the video ended I added a circle open and a circle close, the circle opening was a sort of portal for my grandma, her walk into heaven. The circle close added another effect on my chance to express the ending of a life, and my point is to say that her physical Earth journey has ended and she now has a different spiritual shape.

The Third: THINK YOU KNOW MY AVATAR?

Think You Know My Avatar?

Her
motivations do not come from anything in particular. This old woman does not
fight, therefore she needs to motivation to push her along. But as time goes by
we notice how she does fight depression and loneliness. She finds joy in Emily
as she rids the world of evil and fights to protect the innocence of the world.
We can see, at times, that this old woman looks up to Emily in a sort of way.
We can tell that Emily makes her very proud as a mentor.
The name of
our mentor is Grandy Mims. Grandy Mims looks after Emily as she is constantly
at battle with the evils and she loves her like the daughter she never had.
Mims never loved again since the death of her young husband. Mims and her
husband grew up together and had been inseperable since birth. They married
young and could be seen doing everything together. After years of fertility
issues her husband grew a sad heart and died a broken man. Grandy Mims will
forever struggle with the guilt but finds love and hope within The Chosen One.
The second: THINK YOU KNOW MY AVATAR?

Think You Know My Avatar?

Emily’s
friend is not the greatest fighter but is able to hold her own due to her
motivation. As Emily pulls her motivation from innocence and protecting the
world, this character finds motivation in the world. She believes that no
matter how many visions she has about evil doings there is always a light
within this world. With a good heart and strong head our friend is the
character with whom we trust the most.
The name of
our friend is Mandie Finkelstein. Mandie is a nature friendly friend that grew
up as a normal girl with two parents but has no siblings. There is one
interesting quality about Mandie that she also has to hide from her classmates,
it is the fact that she is an elf. Now you would think that this fact is
obvious but she hides her pointy ears so no one can notice.

The first: THINK YOU KNOW MY AVATAR?

MDIA 1020
Think You Know My Avatar?
This avatar is for the character of a protagonist within a game
and the genre would be spy/adventure.
This specific character would be a teenager that has the ability to
fight evil with her strength due to the fact that she is the Chosen One. As she
tries to blend in with society it is difficult because of her duties to protect
the world from the forces of evil.
Her motivation comes from the innocence of others because
she does not wish for others to be burdened by the awful things of the world.
So as her duties of protection are called to action, her power and passion
comes from the innocence of the people that surround her. With only a few close
friends to confide in our protagonist fights her own personal battles at home
as she tries to make her duties conflict with the normal life her family thinks
she has.
The name of our mature, brave, smart, strong, caring, and
loyal protector is Emily Molnar. Emily identifies herself with the age audience
of teenagers and can be respected by the adults of her time. With all of the
ridiculous things a teenage girl might go through, Emily is able to somehow
balance her status as a high-schooler and the most feared Protector of the dark
world.
